Interaction Designer Job Description

Interaction designers create visual components for web and software applications, determining customer goals and defining the product interactions necessary to achieve them. They help to develop product design strategy and compile business and technical requirements to create product information architecture. They may also conduct product testing to identify problems and areas for improvement within the customer experience. Adobe Creative Suite skills are a must for this position. Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in a field such as product management, engineering or information systems. Many employers require two to five years of experience in interaction design or related fields such as user experience (UX) design.
