This professional supervises a marketing team responsible for developing promotional communications strategy and materials for a company or product. The marketing director’s role can vary depending on a company’s needs and the industry focus, but generally, it centers on managing the marketing process from research and planning to execution and analysis. Duties may also include overseeing the operation of a company’s website or email marketing program and reviewing analytics. This position requires excellent communication, analytical and managerial skills. An MBA is often preferred, as is 5 to 10 years of applicable experience.
