We may use the information we collect about you for purposes such as: To register you with the Site; To provide you with information regarding employment opportunities and career-related information. For instance, if you submitted a resume/CV for a particular client job vacancy or submitted other information to us indicating interest in our work-finding services, we may send you automated emails showing other, similar vacancies for your consideration based upon the information that you submitted to us*; To provide you with information or services that you request. For instance, we may send you job alert emails matching your indicated job search criteria and preferences, and we may send you emails with client job vacancies that our recruitment consultants feel you may be interested in based upon the information that you submitted to us*; To communicate with you about our services or your use of our Site; To distribute comments and other content you provide on message boards or other communications functionality associated with the Site to other users of those message boards or other communications functionality; To administer and improve our services or Site, and to tailor them to your usage or preferences; To protect the Site against online threats such as spam bots and malware; To conduct research and analysis; To enforce the terms of use of our Site or otherwise manage our business; To comply with legal and regulatory requirements; and If you have provided an express consent, or if we have an implied consent or an exemption under Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation, and if you have not opted-out of receiving such communications, to send you automated emails, text messages, or other communications containing promotional messaging. You can opt-out of receiving promotional messages by following the instructions contained in the communication or by contacting us as indicated under the heading “Contact Us”. We and other parties may display behaviorally retargeted advertising to you across the Internet based on your use of our Site. For more information, see the discussion below under the heading “Retargeting”. * In providing job placements and our work-finding services, please note that we may use your information as part of an automated solution to assess your suitability as a candidate for particular job vacancies and for the purpose of considering your suitability for other, similar job vacancies. Our success is dependent on efficiently matching candidates to clients’ vacancies. In this context, we use an automated solution powered by an artificial intelligence (AI) platform. This AI platform may be provided by a third-party service provider outside of Canada (where laws protecting your personal information may not be as stringent as they are in your location, and where local courts and authorities may be able to access your information pursuant to local laws), as this would assist in our efforts to perform the search and match of proposed candidates with client job vacancies more efficiently. The benefit of the search and match capability of an AI tool is that it supports our recruitment consultants’ efforts to search more resumes/CV’s and match your information against clients’ job vacancies much faster and to notify you in a more timely manner of client job vacancies that may be a good fit for you. Our recruitment consultants are presented with a list of proposed candidates that are potentially suitable for a client’s job vacancy but it does not lead to automated decision-making. Our recruitment consultants decide which candidates to shortlist for a specific client’s job, based on their expertise, knowledge of the job market, insight into the client’s business and requirements for the role, candidate discussions and other relevant criteria. Clients (through their own hiring personnel) decide which candidates to select for interview (if any). Our clients’ hiring personnel (not our AI tool) make the final decision on which candidate to select (if any) and ultimately whether to proceed to hire/engage/employ the candidate. If you object to the processing of your personal data by our AI tool, our recruitment consultants will continue to provide work-finding services using other methods to search for job opportunities for you. The personal information of candidates who are not actively seeking a job or who object the processing of their personal data by AI will be deleted by our AI service provider.
