Key milestones in Robert Half’s history 2022: Robert Half achieves record global revenues of $7.24 billion. 2019: Max Messmer, Robert Half Chairman and CEO for 33 years, retires from his position as CEO and continues as Executive Chairman. Messmer is succeeded as CEO by M. Keith Waddell. 2008: Robert Half is listed for the first time on the FTSE4Good Responsible Investment Index. 2008: Robert Half opens its first staffing location in the Middle East, in Dubai, UAE. 2007: Robert Half opens its first staffing location in Latin America, in São Paulo, Brazil. 2002: Protiviti launches, growing to become a global leader in internal audit, risk, business and technology consulting. 2000: Robert Half is the first staffing firm to be added to the S&P 500 Index. 1998: Robert Half opens its first office in the Asia-Pacific region, in Sydney, Australia. 1990: Robert Half is accepted into the New York Stock Exchange. 1989: Robert Half opens its first office in Continental Europe, in Brussels, Belgium. 1987: Robert Half International was formed. 1986: Max Messmer negotiates the purchase of the Robert Half business from founder Bob Half. Once finalized, this transaction sets the company on a new course, paving the way for the repurchase of the Robert Half franchises and the creation of a centralized corporate support infrastructure. 1977: Bob Half testifies before Congress on ways to reduce fraud in accounting and auditing practices. 1973: Robert Half opens its first international location in London, United Kingdom. 1973: Accountemps, the first of many professional staffing divisions, is launched, thus beginning Robert Half’s specialized approach to temporary staffing. 1963: Bob Half speaks out against discriminatory recruiting and staffing practices in a letter to the Association of Personnel Agencies of New York. 1948: Robert Half Personnel Agency founded by Bob and Maxine Half in New York City.
